New York College celebrates the World Mental Health Day with drop-in sessions for its students and staff by the NYC Counselling Service

The start of the Fall semester marks a new beginning. Transitions are often exciting, creative and full of opportunity, but they can also bring uncertainty and anxiety. It’s tough to go through life transitions alone. It often helps to talk about your feelings with a peer, family member or with a mental health professional.

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Tuesday 10th October 2017,  the Psychology Department of New York College would like to invite NYC students and faculty to drop in for a free, confidential, mental health consultation with a licensed Psychologist.

World Mental Health Day was first celebrated in 1992 and is observed on 10th October every year, with the global objective of raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health and the reduction of social stigma. Speaking up and asking for help is a sign of strength.

The NYC Counselling Service is available during semester time, by appointment (or drop in on Mondays and Tuesdays, during set hours). For more information phone 210 3225961-2 or e-mail counseling@nyc.gr
