Thanksgiving Lunch by New York College Student Affairs Department
The New York College Student Affairs Department held a lunch on Thursday November 24th 2016 in order to celebrate Thanksgiving. Staff, students and alumni prepared and shared their delicious dishes. We all had a wonderful time and thank you for supporting our fundraising for “FLOGA”- Pan Hellenic parents association of children with cancer.
The Ambassador of Chile in Greece visits New York College.
On May 13, 2016, Her Excellency Ambassador Ms. Pia Busta of Chile in Greece, was the guest speaker at a lecture to the International Relations students of New York College, presenting her country. During the questions and answers session that followed, students under the supervision Mr. Leonidas Gontzes, Associate Dean and Head of the International Relations Department of New York College, had the opportunity to ask the Ambassador international relations-themed questions.
Honorary Doctorate awarded to the former President of the Albanian Republic, Professor Rexhep Meidani from the University of New York Tirana, part of the New York College Educational Group
The University of New York Tirana, part of the New York College Educational Group, awarded the title of “Honorary Doctorate” to Professor Rexhep Meidani, former President of the Albanian Republic, in a ceremony that took place on the University grounds.

Following a two-day inspection visit by three independent inspectors, one of whom represented students, and was based on a thorough evaluation of the College’s governance, strategy, and financial management; academic management, teaching, learning and assessment; student recruitment, support, guidance and progression; premises, facilities and learning resources; and quality management, assurance and enhancement.

On April 22, 2016, Ambassador Joompol Manaschuang of Thailand in Greece, was the guest speaker at a lecture before theInternational Relations students of New York College. The lecture discussed Thailand’s domestic politics and foreign affairs.
New York College School of Maritime Studies Forum on Shipping & Greek Economy
The School of Maritime Studies at New York College organized its annual forum on the 8th of April, entitled “Sharing Knowledge: dangers faced in the Shipping Industry today”.
Career skills workshop in New York College Thessaloniki in the context of Career Days 2016
A 2 hours career skills workshop took place in New York College Thessaloniki in the context of Career Days 2016 answering the high demands of today’s job market. The workshop was held on Monday, May 9th in the main building of New York College Thessaloniki- Katsimidi 6th str. Euclidis Area. Participants were provided with the necessary knowledge, advice and guidance on CV and cover letter writing as well as image making and interview skills. Ms Eliza Avgoula- Career Office Administrator New York College presented the role of the CV and cover letter in the job application process and Ms Filitsa Arvaniti- Career Office Manager New York College talked about Image Making and Interview skills.
New York College’s Solidarity Movement for “ Kivotos tou Kosmou”
Following the Easter Charity Bazaar which was held last week in Amalias Campus, New York College Student Affairs Department visited the NGO " Kivotos tou Kosmou" offering clothing, food supplies and Easter candles to enhance and support Father Anthony’s valuable work. Ms. Filitsa Arvaniti and Ms. Eliza Avgoula from the student affairs department gave warm Easter greetings in festive mood!
Experiencing what it means to have a permanent visual impairment; ELT students’ visit to the School for the Blind
On Thursday, 21 April 2016, the undergraduate students of the BA (Ηons) in English Language and English Language teaching of NYC, Thessaloniki Campus with their tutor, Ms Ermioni Christopoulou, visited the School for the Blind. The visit took place within the framework of their first-year course “Managing ESL students with educational needs in an inclusive environment”.
