Mexican music night at New York College
On November 3, 2015, Minister Fernando Sandoval Flores, Deputy Head of Mission, of the Embassy of Mexico in Greece, was the guest speaker at a lecture before the International Relations students of New York College. The lecture discussed trade relations between Mexico and Greece as well as Mexico’s participation in the newly formed (2012) Pacific Alliance trade bloc consisting of four Latin American states.
Halloween at New York College
The NYC Office of Student Affairs held a Halloween event at the Amalias Back yard on the 29th and 30th of October. New Yorkers gathered for traditional pumpkin- carving and the team treated everyone to an excessive amount of sugar as is customary. The NYC Psychology Club had a welcome event for new members with American Style Cupcakes! Happy Halloween!!
Lecture on ‘Adult Attachment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’ at New York College
On the evening of Wednesday 21st October 2015 Mr Dimitris Katakis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist at Klimaka Suicide Prevention Centre, led an educational lecture at New York College which was attended by over 40 NYC students, staff and members of the general public. The talk was entitled ‘Adult Attachment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’.
Panama’s Instituto Atenea pupils at New York College
New York College welcomed 40 high school pupils from Instituto Atenea at Panama during their visit to Athens accompanied by the Director of the School Mrs. Luzmila de Palma and Ms. Niki Economou, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Panama in Greece.

Academic representatives of the partner universities, including Professor Dr. Susan Lea, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Greenwich, UK, Dr. Alfred Ntoko, Provost of the State University of New York-Empire State College, USA, and Professor François Vellas from the Université Toulouse 1 Capitole, France awarded students with Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees, after having completed their studies entirely in Greece.
Stephen Krashen, Professor Emeritus, University of Southern California at New York College
New York College Forum of Applied Linguistics had the honor to present Prof. Stephen Krashen, one of the most influential linguists, educators and critical thinkers whose research and writings have inspired an enormous amount of attention over the last three decades, to an audience of students, graduates and teachers of foreign languages at New York College campus, on Monday 23rd March.
Mr. Theocharakis CEO of NISSAN at New York College
Students of Miss Penny Vlagos’ class of “Principles of Management” at New York College were given the opportunity to discuss with Mr. Theocharakis on Monday 23 March. Mr. Theocharakis was truly inspiring and the topics he presented and discussed were directly related to the class material as well as to other courses. The students realized that everything they are learning from EBITA to Profit and Loss statements to vision, objectives and HRM are directly related to real business. His advice to the class in terms of their education as well as their career was truly priceless.
President and CEO of Nereus Mr. Aristides Belles at New York College
On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, President and CEO of Nereus, Mr. Aristides Belles, gave a lecture to the students of New York College, in the class of Mrs. Loula Panayiotou in Kallithea. Mr. Belles, discussed with students in a particular friendly and creative environment the current state of the economy and its growth prospects. Also Mr. Belles told the students stories from his personal journey and urged them to have a vision and follow it.
New York College: Crossroad of Cultures
The New York College (NYC) Educational Group celebrated the end of the academic year by holding splendid graduation ceremonies in Athens, Thessaloniki, Prague, and Tirana. Graduates received their degrees from academics representing such collaborating institutions as the State University of New York, Empire State College, University of Greenwich, University of Bolton, Université Toulouse, Institut Universitaire Kurt Bosch, and Pôle ESG-Paris School of Business.
UNYT students meet Mr. Edi Rama, the Albanian Prime Minister at question and answer session, hosted at the University of New York Tirana.
Hundreds of UNYT students and graduates welcomed the Prime Minister of Albania in an open meeting on June 9, 2014. After a warm speech by the President of UNYT, Mr. Elias Foutsis, students structured and presented their own questions to Mr. Edi Rama.
State University of New York at Brockport College Visits NYC
Five students from the State University of New York (SUNY-Brockport College) and their professor, Dr. Cesar Torres, visited Athens and New York College in May.
